1 dead, 1 injured in shooting on North 48th Wednesday night
BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Police detectives are investigating a drive by shooting that took place Wednesday night on N. 48th Street that left one man dead and another injured.
The shooting happened around 7 p.m. in the 1600 block of N. 48th Street. James Payne, 25, died on the scene and a second victim, identified as a 31-year-old man was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries.

There are no known suspects yet, according to BRPD.
