UPDATE: Christopher Brewer has been apprehended and will now be charged with simple escape along with his previous charges.

ST. HELENA PARISH - Deputies in St. Helena Parish are searching for an escaped inmate.

Chris Brewer escaped the St. Helena Parish Jail at approximately 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Brewer is 5'6'', weighs 150lbs, and has blonde hair and blue eyes.

According to authorities, Brewer has a tattoo of a bird under his right eye. The tattoo is not shown in the photos. He was last seen in a light gray tank top and gray jogging pants that were cut off below the knees.
