UPDATE: Authorities say missing 7-year-old boy found safe

UPDATE: Authorities said that 7-year-old Kevin Gibson has been found safe. 

The investigation is ongoing and further inquires should be directed to the New Orleans Police Department. 

NEW ORLEANS –Louisiana State Police have issued a Level II Endangered/Missing Child Media Advisory on behalf of the New Orleans Police Department for a 7- year-old child.

The child, Kevin Gibson, is a black male with short black hair and brown eyes. A clothing description is not available.

Kevin was last seen late Sunday evening in the Upper 9th Ward near the intersection of Alvar Street and North Prieur Street.

Law enforcement has reason to believe the child is in imminent danger.

WWL-TV reports, New Orleans Police responded to a call of shots fired around 11:28 p.m. in the 3800 block near North Prieur Street. At the scene, police found a woman lying on the ground outside the location suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say, the missing child is the victim's son. Kevin was inside the home at the time of the shooting.
