BATON ROUGE- A local man has been arrested and charged with multiple charges including attempted first-degree murder after an incident that took place in May.

On May 12, two victims were exiting their residence to walk to their vehicle in the 1700 block of Swan Avenue when a man, identified as Michael Jackson, approached the victims and fired several shots at them.

The victims were able to find cover behind a vehicle. One of the victim’s vehicles was damaged by the gunfire and received three bullet holes.

Both victims told authorities they could identify Jackson as the shooter. The victims were able to locate Jackson via social media. He was placed in a six-person photo lineup and presented to the victims. The victims positively identified Jackson as the person who shot at them.

Jackson was booked Sunday with attempted first-degree murder, illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities, aggravated criminal damage of property and possession of firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies.
