BATON ROUGE - Due to torrential rains that have produced major flooding in several Louisiana cities, the Post Office says customers will be able to pick up their mail at nearby alternate post officers.

Those locations include:

Greenwell Springs, LA - 70739 to Zachary LA 70791
Baton Rouge - Central Finance Station 70818 to Scotlandville LA 70807

USPS says that while customers can pick up their mail with proper identification at the alternate Post Offices, retail and shipping services will also be available, including Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail and First through Fourth-class postage. Special Services like Registered and Certified Mail will also be available for customers.

As the water recedes in the impacted areas and conditions improve, mail delivery and retail services will be restored at the impacted Post Offices.
