CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Alex Bregman won several major awards in college at LSU, and now he's starting to win them in the pros as he was named Texas League player of the week for his great start with the Corpus Christi Hooks. 

In his first 10 games in double a baseball, Bregman has hit 5 home runs (surpassing his 66 game total in single A in 2015) while hitting .400 and leading the Texas League in home runs, RBI (13) and runs scored (10). 

The Hooks are the Double A affiliate of the Houston Astros: the New Orleans Pelicans are the Triple A team which could see Bregman if he continues to work his way up through the ranks.
