19-year-old arrested following foot chase in Donaldsonville

DONALDSONVILLE – The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a 19-year-old that attempted to flee deputies following a traffic stop on Monday in Donaldsonville.

APSO arrested 19-year-old Travis Jones on charges of two counts of illegal possession of stolen guns, three counts of illegal carrying of weapons, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine and flight from an officer.

A traffic stop was attempted, but Jones led deputies on a short foot chase on Pine Street. Deputies were able to apprehend Jones and located a black and silver handgun and marijuana. Deputies also found cocaine in his jacket pocket and another gun in his pants leg.

It was learned that both guns were reported stolen.

Jones was booked on the above charges and no bond has been set at the time of this post.
