BATON ROUGE – The Baton Rouge community has begun to hold vigils for the three Baton Rouge law enforcement officers killed on Sunday after a shooting on Airline Highway.

Sheriff's deputy Brad Garafola, BRPD officers Montrell Jackson and Matthew Gerald were killed by 29-year-old Gavin Long after he opened fire as he was walking around masked with a gun near Hammond Aire Plaza on Sunday morning.

A prayer service was held for all three officers and the Baton Rouge community as a whole at Full Gospel United Pentecostal Church Monday night. It was followed by an emotional vigil planned for officer Matthew Gerald at 8 p.m. at Healing Place Church. You can watch that video here.

A second vigil is planned for Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Christ Community Church on Juban Road in Denham Springs.
