IBERVILLE PARISH - Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash involving an Acadian ambulance in Iberville Parish, according to sources.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 30 and Hwy. 3115 just before 9 p.m. Friday night. According to sources, the ambulance was struck on its side at the intersection by another vehicle.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash and there are multiple injured patients, sources say.

Two medics were transported to a local hospital. Another patient in the second vehicle involved was also transported to a local hospital.

AirMed was originally called to transport the patient from the second vehicle, but that patient was later transported by ground due to the location of the hospital.

One patient in the ambulance had to be extracted from the vehicle, sources say. The other person was able to climb out.

All individuals involved in the crash are reported to be in stable condition, according to sources.

The Acadian ambulance involved in the crash is slightly submerged in approximately three feet of water in a ditch off the side of the highway, according to a News 2 crew at the scene.

This is a developing story. More details to come.
