Teen charged in accidental shooting of kid cousin
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested an 18-year-old Wednesday after a shooting injured a 16-year-old inside a house on Jefferson Avenue.
Detectives said Corie Burge was playing with a gun with his unidentified teenage cousin when the gun fired. The 16-year-old was hit in the torso and taken to an area hospital. The victim is expected to survive, police said.
The shooting was ruled accidental, but Burge was charged with negligent injuring.
