UPDATE: Police have identified the victim in Tuesday's deadly crash as 70-year-old Selvarine Harvey.

Police say Harvey was turning onto Florida Boulevard when a pickup truck driven by 68-year-old Angel Cordova ran a red light and crashed into Harvey's  vehicle.

Harvey was taken to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police say Cordova was issued citations for a red light violation and reckless operation. Additional charges are possible depending on the outcome of the investigation.

BATON ROUGE- Emergency responders are on the scene of a serious crash in the 7800 block of Florida Boulevard.

The call came in after 11 a.m. for a crash at the intersection of Florida and Lobdell. Extrication was involved. Police say one person is dead after the crash.

The left and center lanes are now blocked on Florida Boulevard (US 190) East at Lobdell Avenue, due to emergency vehicles on scene for the accident westbound. Traffic is passing through the right lane. Use caution.
