BATON ROUGE - A man believed to be connected to a string of armed robberies throughout Baton Rouge is now being made a priority by police after two hotels were robbed early Friday morning.

According to Baton Rouge Police, the Courtyard by the Marriott Hotel on S Acadian Thruway was robbed around 2:30 a.m. Friday. Police say a man walked into the hotel armed with a gun and demanded money. He then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

About 10 minutes later, police say another robbery was reported at the Marriott located just off Corporate Boulevard. A BRPD spokesperson says investigators believe the same man may have robbed both locations. They also believe the man is connected to a number of recent business robberies throughout the city.

BRPD says the man's crimes appear to be getting more brazen, and they've made it a priority to apprehend him before someone gets hurt.

Police described the suspect as 5’10”, with a slim build, medium complexion, and a thin beard and goatee. He was wearing a red shirt on the top of his head, glasses with a black frame, white t-shirt, black pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact police at (225)389-3845.
