Man turns himself in after fatal shooting of cousin in Plaquemine

UPDATE: Shelton Williams turned himself in to the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office, with the presence of his attorney, on Monday around noon for the second degree murder of his cousin. According to the sheriff's office, Williams may also face a charge of felon in possession of a firearm.

PLAQUEMINE
- Officials are looking for a man who allegedly shot and killed his cousin in Plaquemine late Friday night.

According to the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office, Shelton Williams, 22, of Plaquemine is wanted for second degree murder after he fatally shot the 27-year-old victim in the chest.

PLAQUEMINE - Authorities are responding to a reported shooting that left a 27-year-old man injured.

The victim was shot in the chest and rushed by paramedics to an awaiting AirMed unit, according to sources.

The shooting took place sometime after 11 p.m. on Jones Lane.

The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office is working the scene along with other scene.
