One of two wrecks on Jefferson Hwy. involved a police officer
BATON ROUGE - A police officer was involved in a wreck responding to a more serious crash near the corner of Jefferson and Drusilla Friday night.
Initially, authorities were dispatched to a crash involving a motorcycle and an an automobile. The coroner's office was called to the crash involving the motorcycle and so was the Baton Rouge Police Traffic Homicide Unit. Specific information about the crash has not been released.
Police said the officer was likely involved in the second crash while responding to the first call. The crash involving the police cruiser was not serious.
