BATON ROUGE - The LSU gymnastics team has moved into the top position in the national rankings for the seventh time in program history after the squad posted a 196.950 score in a win over Oklahoma.

According to RoadToNationals.com, 1-0 LSU is now tied at No. 1 with Michigan after the Wolverines also secured a 196.950 season average.

Gymnastics national rankings are based on a team’s overall season average for the first few weeks of the season before they switch to the regional qualifying score. LSU also holds down the No. 1 position nationally on floor, No. 3 on beam and No. 17 on bars.

The Tigers now place North Carolina State in their sights as they head to the Lady Luck Invitational in Las Vegas where they will take on the Wolfpack at 9 p.m. Thursday. A livestream of the meet will be available on FloGymnastics.com to site subscribers only.
