LSU DC Aranda headlines LHSCA coaches convention
BATON ROUGE - Dave Aranda says there's no magic fairy dust to success as a defensive coach: just getting players in the right places and focused on the right things.
LSU's defensive coordinator's was a headline presenter on day one of the LSHCA convention at the Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge on Tuesday - Aranda spent an hour speaking to coaches about philosophy as well as X's and O's.
Aranda stressed to his audience that defense can dictate the terms of play rather than react to the offense by getting the best players in the best positions to make plays.
Aranda used that philosophy to lead Wisconsin to the 2nd best total defense in the country in 2015, allowing just 268 yards per game.
