Former Parkview Baptist student accused of rape
BATON ROUGE - A former Parkview Baptist High School student was arrested after he was accused of a rape in New Orleans.
The victim in the incident reported to law enforcement stated that she was in the city in Dec. of last year to attend her high school football team's game in the Superdome. The victim said she and her friends decided to go out on Bourbon Street after they'd gone back to their hotel room to begin drinking alcohol. She reported that she was drunk by the time the group left to go out.
Police said the victim reported that 19-year-old Pryce Fletcher approached her on the street, but she did not remember what happened until she woke up to Fletcher standing by the door in a hotel room.
After Fletcher told her to leave, she said she went to the hotel lobby to meet her friends who had been looking for her. She then told authorities she remembered waking up in her room to a Snapchat message from Fletcher telling her she had left her jacket in his room.
When the victim went to collect her things, she said the man told her that they did have sex and that she shouldn't tell anyone about it.
The victim told authorities she was afraid to report what happened. A search warrant was executed on Fletcher and a DNA swab was performed and compared to a sample taken from the victim’s underwear.
The test confirmed a match between the two samples.
Parkview Baptist has declined to comment on the incident.
