Movie-prop money circulated at BR store
BATON ROUGE - Detectives are unsure of how some fake money ended up on the streets of Baton Rouge, but are confident a woman caught with it was too confused to know what she had.
Earlier Wednesday, the sheriff's office posted an image from an area grocery store's surveillance system, looking to identify a woman seen using counterfeit money. The money was a movie prop, authorities said.
The woman purchased $62.24 worth of items and left.
She was located later Wednesday and told detectives she did not know the money she used was for the movies and not real. She agreed to pay the amount of the groceries and no charges were filed.
