BATON ROUGE - Firefighters responded to a house fire Thursday night off of Tiger Bend Road.

The incident was reported around 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 13000 block of Ridgeview Drive, just off Tiger Bend.

According to the St. George Fire Department, crews arrived on the scene and found the kitchen engulfed in flames. The blaze was quickly extinguished before it could spread to any other rooms. However, officials say the home did receive heavy smoke damage.

Officials believe the fire started from a flammable liquid spill that ignited.

No injuries were reported.
