BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge police officers found a body in a grassy area in the 3800 block of Geronimo St. around 11:45 p.m., according to a news release.

Officers were responding to a shots fired call when they discovered a man in the grass. It was determined later that the man was dead, according to the release.

Violent Crime Unit detectives then took over the investigation.
