PORT ALLEN - An inmate who died in July while incarcerated at the West Baton Rouge Parish Jail passed away of natural causes, law enforcement said Tuesday.

The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said the autopsy for 46-year-old Darren Dorman Jr. revealed he had hypertensive heart disease.

WBRZ previously reported Dorman was a federal inmate and was being held in the Port Allen facility when his cellmate noticed he was unresponsive in his cell on July 5. He was pronounced dead at the jail.
