BATON ROUGE- Pat's Coats for Kids got some help from a very special guest Wednesday.

WWE superstar The Big Show was live Wednesday morning with Pat Shingleton outside of Walmart collecting donations for Pat's Coats for Kids, a donation drive spearheaded by WBRZ's chief forecaster.

The Big Show walked around the store and greeted shoppers as he bought items to donate to local children.

"I totally and wholeheartedly support [Pat's Coats for Kids]," the WWE star said. "This is kind of a special thing that hits home for me. I remember being a kid in South Carolina...I remember going to school with one green shoe and one blue shoe. Because they were the only two shoes I had that didn't have holes in them, and the kids teased me. Hopefully, now I'm in a position where I can give back a little bit to this great community."

The Big Show was also live in the WBRZ studio to talk more about the good work that Pat's Coats for Kids does for children in the Baton Rouge community.

Since its conception, more than a million dollars have been received, reflecting 83,000 purchases and distributions to 125 schools. In addition, Pat's Coats for Kids has collected more than 197,000 used coats.

Pat Shingleton will be packing the pod at the Walmart on College Drive until 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
