Victims in deadly I-10 wreck identified
BATON ROUGE - State Police said two Baton Rouge women were not wearing their seat belts when they wrecked and died in a crash on I-10 Friday morning.
Troopers said Keona K. Bobo, 21, and her passenger Brittany J. Bright, 20, died in the wreck east of Highway 61 in Ascension Parish.
State Police said shortly before 8:30 a.m. Bobo was driving west on I-10 when for unknown reasons she went off the road and hit a tree.
Investigators earlier said the wet roads may have been a factor in the crash, as well as excessive speed.
Police said they don't believe Bobo was impaired, but they took a blood sample for the State Police Crime Lab to analyze.
