Teen driver arrested after deadly crash on Jefferson Highway Friday
BATON ROUGE- State police arrested a 19-year-old driver Friday afternoon after a fatal crash on Jefferson Highway.
The crash was reported shortly after noon near the intersection of Jefferson and Antioch Road. An LSP spokesperson confirmed the crash involved two vehicles and claimed the life of 40-year-old Vikram Katoch.

The crash was reported just after noon near the intersection of Jefferson and Antioch Road. The two-vehicle crash killed at least one person, other injuries unknown at this time. @WBRZ pic.twitter.com/HNKPU0yp3I
State police said the driver of the Ford truck, 19-year-old Dustin Philippe, failed to yield before turning onto the highway and collided with Katoch's sports car. Katoch died at the scene.
Philippe is charged with negligent homicide and making an improper left turn at an intersection. He was not injured.
