Stolen smoker found
CENTRAL - A well known BBQ pit stolen 3 days after Christmas has returned home.
According to store owners, David's Tiger Express's smoker was found abandoned in a Baton Rouge apartment complex.
David's Tiger Express and the grill are known for its Friday night steak dinners.
"It is family to us, since they've been here. Central has been a community since day one. But with David's here, its more than just a community, it's family," said Tim Mayeux. He's a customer of David's Tiger Express.
Store owners say the grill did have a couple hundred dollars in damage, but will be ready to go this Friday night.
According to the sheriff's office, surveillance video showed someone in a Ford Explorer backing up to the trailer and then leaving with it on Hooper Road a few minutes later. The video also showed a man getting out of the passenger's side of the truck wearing a tan, long-sleeve shirt and khaki pants to close the gate to the trailer.
Deputies have not named any suspects in the cast at this time.
