Small plane makes emergency landing in Scotlandville Friday; no injuries reported
BATON ROUGE - A small plane was forced to make an emergency landing in a field just north of the Baton Rouge Airport Friday afternoon.
Authorities say they responded to reports of a plane crash around 2:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Blount Road. Officials say the aircraft made an emergency landing in a small field near the roadway.
An airport spokesperson said the plane had just taken off from the BTR Airport when it experienced major engine problems, prompting the pilot to make a "very skillful" landing.
Authorities said only the pilot and one other person were onboard, and no serious injuries were reported.
