Pound the Pavement for special needs
DENHAM SPRINGS - The Denham Springs Pilot Club is hosting the Pound the Pavement for Pilot 5K and Fun Run to raise money for several organizations in the area. Kayla Johnson and Terri Borde joined John Pastorek on 2une In this morning with all the details.
In addition to the races, Pound the Pavement will also feature free food, face painting for kids and a raffle for a golf cart. While people are urged to pre-register, you can register beginning at 7:00 a.m. the morning of.
"Pilot Club focuses on brain safety, brain research and brain related disorders," Borde explains. "We also deal with Alzheimer's, but we're most proud of our work with the Kidz Korner Playland."
When the playground was built in Denham Springs in 2010, it was one of only four in Louisiana designed to accommodate kids with special needs. Watch the video to learn about more Pilot Club projects.
