LSU bike officer hit by car, checked out for minor injuries
BATON ROUGE - An LSU Police bicycle officer was hit by a car while patrolling on campus late Thursday night.
Police are searching for the driver.
The officer reported minor injuries and was checked out by the Baton Rouge Fire Department and EMS on scene.
It happened just before midnight at the corner of S. Campus Drive and Field house Drive.
Baton Rouge Law enforcement is looking for a dark colored - possibly gray or blue - Nissan Versa or Toyota Auris with front end damage last seen driving southbound on Nicholson by a white female.
Investigators interviewed witnesses following the hit and run, and they may have some luck checking the vast LSU video surveillance system.
Officers are searching residential parking lots on and near campus for the driver.
