BATON ROUGE- A local blood bank is trying to "ham it up" to get folks to donate blood.
Blood centers tend to see a drop in donations around the holidays. United Blood Services is hoping to change that.
United Blood Services is hosting a three-day blood drive that begins today. To get more people in the door, the blood bank is offering a special voucher for a free ham or turkey from Whole Foods to the first 30 people each day.
United Blood Services is located at 8234 One Calais Ave.
Blood drive hours:
-Monday- 8 a.m.- 5p.m.
-Tuesday- 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
-Wednesday- 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
