Fallen officer Shane Totty laid to rest Thursday
BATON ROUGE - A Baton Rouge police officer who was killed in a crash last week was laid to rest Thursday.
Shane Totty was escorting a funeral procession on Jones Creek when a pick-up truck pulled in front of his motorcycle. He was taken to a local hospital, but later died. Local organization Back the Blue has set up a donation drive for the fallen officer's family.
Last year, Totty survived a hail of gunfire while checking on a reported shooting. He was hit by shrapnel and hospitalized before being released February 2018.
Totty's body was taken from Healing Place Church to its final resting place at Greenoaks Memorial Park Thursday afternoon.
