BATON ROUGE- Turkey in the straw, turkey in the hay, we're having fun on this Thanksgiving Day.

WBRZ's John Pastorek was in the kitchen with Louisiana's award-winning cookbook queen Holly Clegg.

The two cooked a delicious last minute dessert recipe, Buttermilk Streusel Pie. The crunchy brown sugar topping sprinkled over a light custard pie reminds you of a Crème Brûlée, minus all the effort.

To create the delicious dish follow this recipe:

Buttermilk Streusel Pie

Makes 8-10 servings

 2 eggs

3/4 cup sugar

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 3/4 cups buttermilk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell

Streusel Topping

1.  Preheat oven to 325ºF.
2.  In mixing bowl, beat together all ingredients, pour into pie shell. Bake 30 minutes.
3.  Reduce oven temperature 300ºF, sprinkle top of pie with Streusel Filling (recipe below), continue baking 50-55 minutes or until set. Turn oven to broil and broil 2 minutes, watching carefully. Let stand 20 minutes before serving.

Streusel Topping

 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup light brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1.  In small bowl, mix together all ingredients until mixture is crumbly.
