Battle of the bands kicks off Saturday
Update: Grambling State defeated the Southern Jaguars 30-21 Saturday.
NEW ORLEANS- Many fans from both Grambling State and Southern University are on their way to the Crescent City. The two teams will battle it out in the 44th annual Bayou Classic on Saturday.
The game will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Kick-off is at 4 p.m. The Jaguars are looking for revenge this year, after losing to Grambling last year in the annual matchup.
While the big game is Saturday, Bayou Classic festivities begin today. The Bayou Classic BizTech Challenge will begin at 1 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Later in the evening is the Greek Show and the Battle of the Bands. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with the show starting at 6 p.m. at the Superdome.
Bayou Classic festivities begin early Saturday morning in the Superdome. Doc Griggs 2X Around the Dome fun walk will begin at 8 a.m. Then at 9:30 p.m. is the Bayou Classic Parade which will begin at the French Market and end at the Superdome. Right before the game in Champions Square, from 11:30 a.m until 3:30 p.m., is the Fan Festival.
