World War II era bomb detonated
WRIGHTSTOWN, NEW JERSEY- A World War II era bomb was detonated by a military bomb squad after it was found on the campus of a community college.
It was unearthed as crews were building at Middlesex County College, which is the site of the former Raritan Arsenal. The construction crews were evacuated after it was found but it was far enough away from classroom and administration buildings and they were not affected.
It was a 500-pound bomb and the military explosive ordnance disposal team that blew it up say members had never dealt with such a large device.
