FAYETTEVILLE - As temperatures dip into the 20s Friday in Baton Rouge, crews in Fayetteville are rolling out the snow plows and preparing to salt the roads.

The LSU Tigers take on the Arkansas Razorbacks Saturday. LSU had planned to play in the snow, but that's not the case anymore. Still, Fayetteville has winterized the city ahead of the game.

This is the coldest game the Tigers will have to play so far this season, but the snow is supposed to hold off until Sunday.  The temperatures will still be low, and LSU Head  Equipment Manager Greg Stringfellow has properly outfitted the players for the weather.

"Try to hold as much head in as possible," said Stringfellow. "Fleece-lined tights, head coverings, with the wind blowing and the wetness."

Other cold weather gear includes gloves, fleece-lined shirts, socks and thermals.

"I think they'll have their long-johns on, I think they'll be ready," said Neal Hendrick.

The Tigers had their first taste of the cold weather Wednesday during practice.

"Today was a perfect day for a simulation of a cold practice, because it was a cold practice," said LSU Head Football Coach Les Miles.

Fans say the Tigers are ready for the game and ready to forget their loss.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. in Fayetteville.
