MARKSVILLE - A second inmate who escaped from the Avoyelles Detention Center is back in custody.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre said in a news release Wednesday that Kyron Folse was found in New Roads and taken in to custody. Folse had escaped the Avoyelles Parish jail earlier Wednesday along with another inmate, Frank Sneed.
Avoyelles Parish Sheriff Doug Anderson tells KATC-TV the men were discovered missing from their cell at about 5:30 a.m. He says they apparently chipped a hole in the ceiling, crawled through to a storage area, got out of the building, scaled a fence and escaped.
Both inmates had been in jail on armed robbery charges.
Sneed was captured near New Roads around 9:30 a.m.
