Two NYPD officers killed in ambush
NEW YORK - Two New York police officers are dead after an ambush shooting Saturday afternoon, according to police reports.
The apparent killer was found dead in a nearby subway station. He is believed to have killed himself.
NYPD's 52nd Precinct reported their deaths in a Twitter poast saying, "Our prayers are with the family of the 2 #NYPD who lost there lives today. #BeSafe."
The officers were in their patrol car in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood when the gunman attacked and then fled. The officers were taken to a hospital but have since died.
