Two arrested after business burglary
NEW IBERIA - Sheriff's deputies arrested an Iberia Parish man and a teen after they said the pair broke into a business and stole thousands of dollars worth of electronics as well as an air conditioning unit.
Deputies accused Shay Lacour, 19, and a 16-year-old male of simple burglary. They also charged Lacour with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Investigators said the pair were caught on video surveillance breaking into a business on Northside Road. Deputies said the owners told them about $6,000 worth of inventory and items from the business were taken, as well as their window AC unit.
Detectives said when they arrested Lacour they also found the majority of the stolen property at his residence in New Iberia.
Deputies booked Lacour into the parish jail and released the 16-year-old to his parents.
