Tulane extends season, thumps Lehigh 15-3 at Baton Rouge regional
BATON ROUGE - Tyler Wilson drove in four runs and Tulane staved off elimination in the Baton Rouge Regional with a 15-3 victory over Lehigh on Saturday.
The Green Wave (35-24) knocked out Lehigh (25-31) in the win game featured a rain delay of 3 hours and 16 minutes.
Corey Merrill (5-6) allowed three runs - two earned - and three hits in five innings, while Tim Yandel allowed two hits in four innings in the five-hitter.
Trailing 3-1 headed to the fourth, the Green Wave sent 10 batters to the plate. Lex Kaplan was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and Wilson's sac fly tied it. The Green Wave took the lead for good on an RBI single by Hunter Williams, and Jake Rogers' three-run double broke it open.
Nick Stephens (4-7) allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings in the loss.
