Tornado watch in effect for viewing area until 6 p.m.
A **TORNADO WATCH*** is in effect for the entire WBRZ viewing area until 6 p.m. this evening.
A Wind Advisory is also in effect for the WBRZ viewing area except for St. Mary and St. James Parishes. A wind advisory is issued when winds are expected to be between 26-39mph. This may make driving difficult, especially across elevated portions of the roadway, bridges, water crossings, and for high profiled vehicles. This is in effect until 6 p.m.
National Weather Service meteorologists in Slidell find weather conditions to be favorable for the development of tornadoes in the area.
Stay alert to changing weather conditions on WBRZ, social media, and our 24-hour weather channel. Meteorologist Robert Gauthreaux will have a full weather report during tonight's broadcasts.
