WHITE CASTLE - Family members of three people who were killed in a crash with a train spent Sunday afternoon surveying the crash scene.

Clifton Davis, 37, Andrea Foster, 33, and Courtney Canada, 25 were killed when the car they were in was hit by a freight train overnight Sunday.  The crash happened at the crossing on Bowie Street, near La. 1.

"We're living in a day and time where everybody seem to be in a hurry. They don't want to wait. I don't know if this was the case of the accident or not. But we don't like to wait. That's a problem that we seem to have...our society seem to have," said John Batiste, Davis' uncle.

Batiste added Andrea Foster was a mother.

White Castle Police Chief Mario Brown said the investigation continues and officers aren't sure why the car was on the tracks, but it is possible the victims were trying to beat the train or just disregarded the signals.

Brown, who knew the victims, said it is going to be a tough investigation.

"You know, you just have to push through it and continue to pray and keep going," he said. "You know, pray for the families and also pray for yourself. Because you need strength in times like this in order to do your job properly."
