The Lemonade Challenge: Friends remember Bella Bowman
BATON ROUGE - The Bella Bowman Foundation is getting ready for their Charcuterie, Pâtés & Rosés event next Thursday, but some of Bella's friend are remembering the courageous 7-year-old and raising money for her foundation in the process.
7-year-old Bella Bowman was diagnosed with ependymoma brain tumor in January 2011. After a long and courageous battle, she passed away in December of that year.
Three and a half years later, her friends Mindy and Shelby haven't forgotten her. They opened a lemonade stand and raised $315 for her foundation. Then they issued a challenge to some of her other friends.
The trio will try to out-do Mindy and Shelby's fundraising total at their lemonade stand tomorrow. If you'd like to donate to the Bella Bowman Foundation and enjoy a refreshing drink, visit the Soho Boutique Salon at the corner of Essen and Perkins tomorrow from 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 pm.
