Terry Speaks is guilty of killing and dismembering a stripper in New Orleans
GRETNA - Terry Speaks was found guilty tonight by a jury for killing and dismembering a New Orleans stripper.
Speaks and his ex-girlfriend, Margret Sanchez, were charged with second degree murder of 22-year-old Jaren Lockhart.
Speaks and Sanchez were seen leaving a bar on Bourbon Street with Lockhart the night she went missing. Lockhart's head, legs and left thigh washed up on beaches in Mississippi in June 2012.
Prosecutors say they dismembered the body, cut off her tattoo , and scrubbed their apartment and car to keep investigators from identifying her body.
Speaks tried to represent himself in the trial but opted out for defense attorneys after one day in court.
His guilty sentence will hold a mandatory life sentence.
Margaret Sanchez's trial has not been scheduled yet.
