Teens arrested after fight at Tara High
BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies charged two teens with felonies after investigators said the pair jumped a 15-year-old boy at Tara High School this week.
Deputies arrested 18-year-old Johnny Moore and 17-year-old Darius Watts after the fight Monday.
Investigators said on Monday a deputy working extra duty for EBR Schools was sent to Tara High for a reported fight. When they got there the deputy was told Moore and Watts attacked another boy, a 15-year-old, during lunch in the cafeteria.
After questioning the two, deputies said Moore and Watts admitted they jumped the victim to get him back for a fight Sunday between the 15-year-old and Watts.
Deputies booked Moore and Watts into the parish jail. They were charged with felony cruelty to juveniles, as well as misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor disturbing the peace.
On Tuesday a judge threw out Moore's charge of felony cruelty to juveniles, citing no probable cause.
