NATALBANY - Tangipahoa investigators have identified two men that were killed as a result of a shooting that happened on Haynes Lane and  North Oak Street.

According to Tangipahoa Sheriff Daniel Edwards, responding deputies found two males unresponsive in the front seat of a car on the side of the road. The two men are identified as 31-year-old Randy Darnell Bickham of Springfield and 31-year-old Charleston Mitchell of Hammond.

According to Edwards, a call was made by a neighbor of gun shots heard on Haynes Lane and North Oak around 3:40 a.m.

The Louisiana State Police Crime Lab was processing the scene. Edwards said that the Sheriff's Office is canvassing the neighborhood for any information that neighbors may have about the incident.

According to Edwards, the neighborhood where the shooting happened is not common for crime.

"Very uncommon. I don't remember working a homicide in this area in quite some time," Edwards said.

Edwards said that investigators will work relentlessly to try and piece together what happened leading up to the shooting.

"This is something that we are going to stay on day and night until we can get it solved," Edwards said.

There are no confirmed suspects or motive identified as the time of this post.
