Suspect arrested for kidnapping, assault after dragging woman out of home
GONZALES- One suspect is in custody after he allegedly kidnapped and assaulted a Gonzales woman.
Gonzales Police said Chris LeBlanc, the victim's former boyfriend, entered the victim's home in the Palms Apartments early Sunday morning. LeBlanc then reportedly physically removed the victim from the apartment. She was later found by police walking down Coontrap Road.
LeBlanc was arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on one count each of second-degree kidnapping, unauthorized entry, domestic abuse battery and simple assault.
Investigators said the victim told them LeBlanc slapped her in the face and struck her in the head with a bottle. She told investigators LeBlanc wanted to talk about their relationship, which recently ended after he was arrested and booked on one count of simple robbery, where she was also the victim.
Investigators said LeBlanc allegedly threatened to kill the victim if she called police, and she thought he was armed with a handgun. The children of the victim and LeBlanc were in the apartment at the time LeBlanc allegedly removed the woman from the home.
