State police stop to help stranded, expectant mother on Louisiana interstate
WEST MONROE - A couple of state troopers went above and beyond the line of duty this week on I-20.
Ashley McFarland is six months pregnant with her first child. She became stranded with a flat tire on a busy stretch of I-20 during the morning rush Wednesday. The expectant mother says two Louisiana State Police Troopers spotted her, and stopped to help.
She quickly posted her gratitude to Facebook.
"Today I'm thankful for the Louisiana State Police and their quick response to help a 6 month pregnant lady stranded, on the side of the busiest section of the interstate at the busiest time of the morning, with a flat tire!" she wrote. "So thankful for these two officers! I would still be stuck on the interstate had it not been for them!"
