State Police: Picayune pedestrian killed on I-59
PEARL RIVER, La. - State police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian Saturday morning.
The crash claimed the life of 19-year-old Andrew Flores of Picayune, Mississippi after he was hit by a truck on Interstate 59 near Pearl River around 6:30 a.m.
According to troopers, 27-year-old Levi Craddock from Lacombe was driving Flores to his home when Flores became drunk in the backseat and started to interfere with Craddock's driving.Investigators say Flores left the car and walked into oncoming traffic on the interstate after Craddock pulled over to regain control.
Investigators say Flores was struck and killed by a truck heading northbound belonging to 26-year-old Danny Winkles of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.
Troopers say Winkles was not drunk, but do believe Flores was impaired at the time of the crash.
