Stabbing victim's mother tries to accept son's brutal death
ST. AMANT - The mother of the 18-year-old boy who was stabbed to death Saturday, is trying to come to terms with her son's final moments.
"His life is over, I will never, ever see my baby again, never," Suzette Toups said.
Todd Toups, a St. Amant High School senior, was picking up his homecoming date at Cobb’s Trailer Park on Roddy Road around 4 o'clock, when a confrontation erupted between him and another 16-year-old boy.
As investigators piece together the incident, Suzette Toups remembers her son as kind, loving young boy who had big plans for his future.
"He wanted to be a history teacher, because history was his passion and because he wanted to work with young teens who may have problems, family issues," said Toups, "things like that so he could make a difference in their life, just like his history teacher made a difference in his."
The 16-year-old suspect is facing second-degree murder charges.
