Pointe Coupee - According to Catholic Pointe Coupee head football coach Rob Funderburk, the Hornets took a step in the right direction last year and now they wnat to keep moving in that direction in 2014.

The Hornets finished 6-6 overall in 2013, 2-3 in district play, but they won a playoff game and Funderburk feels this year's team can build on that momentum.

"I think they got a little taste of it last year and I think they want more," Funderburk said.

The team returns seven starters on each side of the ball, and Funderburk complimented his older players for mentoring a strong freshman class.
