Southern University rolls to 96-69 victory over Ecclesia
BATON ROUGE - Christopher Hyder had 10 points and seven assists and Southern University rolled to a 96-69 victory over Ecclesia on Sunday.
Shawn Prudhomme scored 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting with three 3-pointers to lead Southern (7-2), which is 4-0 at home. Adrian Rodgers had 14 points and LaQuentin Collins chipped in 12.
Jamarius Graves and David Gant scored 12 points apiece for Ecclesia.
The Jaguars had a 10-point lead midway through the first half and led 57-35 at halftime.
Rodgers made a 3-pointer to stretch Southern's lead to 81-49 with 10 minutes left. Ecclesia went nearly six minutes without scoring before Gant made a 3 with 7:47 remaining.
Southern matched a season-high with 96 points, and has won two straight and seven of its last eight games. The Jaguars play at Memphis on Tuesday, and at Louisiana Tech on Friday.
